MUNICIPAL BOARD

FEBRUARY 8, 2022

A regular meeting of the Municipal Water and Sewer Board of the Village of Lowville was held on February 8, 2022. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by Mr. Joseph Zehr.

Approval of Minutes:

Motion by Mr. Comet, seconded by Mrs. Duflo to approve the minutes of the January 11, 2022, regular meeting. All in favor.

Public Comment:

§ None.

Correspondence:

§ None.

Old Business:

GYMO, PC UPGRADES:

§ No current updates. The Village has a meeting tomorrow with GYMO, PC to discuss the financial aspects of the Sewer Plant project.

DEC Application:

§ Supt. Denise, Mayor Beagle, Mr. Zehr and GYMO, PC will meet with DEC on Wednesday.

County Water Study:

§ Mr. Zehr and Mr. Denise attended the County meeting. The County is in the beginning stages of planning the possible creation of water districts for all of Lewis County.

New Business:

§ Kraft Sewer Charges:

§ January 2022 $5000

Motion by Mrs. Duflo, seconded by Mr. Kraeger to accept the water surcharges as listed. All in favor.

§ Lewis County Solid Waste:

§ Supt. Denise explained that Lewis County has agreed to waive the tipping fees associated with the Sewer Project planned for this year. The Village in return would like to waive the Solid Waste fees for sludge disposal at the Sewer Plant for three years and revisit it at that time.

Motion by Mr. Widrick, seconded by Mrs. Duflo to waive the sludge charges from Lewis County Solid Waste for three years in exchange for tipping fees being waived. All in favor.

§ Town of Lowville:

§ The Town would like to increase their daily water usage from 40,000 GPD to 50,000 GPD for Water District One. The contract would have to be revisited upon this approval. The Board would like Mr. Denise to check with DEC to verify the procedure for doing so.
