MUNICIPAL BOARD
February 13, 2024

A regular meeting of the Municipal Water and Sewer Board of the Village of Lowville was held on February 13, 2024. The meeting was called to order at 5:58 PM by Mr. Joe Zehr.

Municipal Board Members:    Joe Zehr    Don Kraeger    Tom Widrick    Mark Tabolt    Mike Comet    Dennis Bishop(alt.)

Approval of Minutes:

Motion by Mr. Comet, seconded by Mr. Kraeger to approve the minutes of the January 9, 2024, regular meeting. All in favor.

Public Comment:
None.

Old Business:

GYMO, PC UPGRADES:
WTP – Mr. Denise reported Aqualogics is finishing up then the project will be complete.

WWTP – Mr. Denise reported this project is complete.

Kraft meter:
Mr. Denise reported the meter has been installed however not online at this time.  Mr. Denise has contacted RAFA System but there is still problems receiving the meter information on line.  The owner of the company will meet with Mr. Denise to rectify the problem.

The Board is requesting recommend Kraft install a water tank at their facility.

New Business:

Kraft Sewer Surcharges:
January  $9,250

Motion by Mr. Kraeger, seconded by Mr. Comet to accept the sewer surcharge as listed.  All in favor.

Kraft Water Surcharges:
January  $0

Sewer Increase:
GYMO has suggested an increase for the sewer portion of the November 2024 water/sewer billing.  A 2.5% and a 3% rate increase was presented to the Board.

Motion by Mr. Tabolt, seconded by Mr. Kraeger to approve the 3% increase to the sewer portion of the water/sewer bills for November 2024.  All in favor.

Timber Cut:
Mr. Denise will contact Prentiss & Carlisle regarding a future timber cut.

Well Development:

Motion by Mr. Kraeger, seconded by Mr. Tabolt to have GYMO research adding additional wells at the water shed.  All in favor.
